Using the microscope

Last week we went to the lab to learn how to use a microscope. Before that, we learnt in class the different parts of an optical microscope.(Drawing taken from Ruben Novella´s notebook. 1º C)

VISIT AND WORK IN THE LAB by Jorge Ferrer 1ºB
After leaving the class of Art we went to our classroom where our Science teacher was waiting us for the usual class. But this time it was going to be different: we were going to go to the lab.
In the lab we started working in pairs. I was with Adolfo, but there weren’t enough microscopes and Laura came with us.
The teacher gave us a piece of paper with an “e” written on it to put it on the specimen holder. Then we put over a plastic with some water to protect the specimen. After that we looked at the letter using different magnification objective lenses.
We had to do an inform answering some questions about the movement direction of the specimen.
After finishing the class we took the homework and we went home.

The practice was very interesting and funny, but it was not easy to focus the "e".(Laura, Adolfo & Jorge 1º B)
Did you know that the letter "e" is watched downwards?
